Welcome to the RAMC Blue Book

Welcome to the Blue Book programme for 2024.

Thank you all of you who supported Corps’ events last year for our 125th Anniversary. It was a huge pleasure to join you for these occasions and I hope you enjoyed a brief opportunity to meet each other and share stories.

I believe more than ever that our operational effectiveness depends on our camaraderie. You will all, rightly, be focused on ensuring that everyone in your current team feels like they belong and is able to contribute fully, and that is built on a foundation of knowing each other well. Our events in 2024 offer moments when we can reflect and learn from the teams of the past and build the relationships that will underpin the teams we may join in the future. We are all just one assignment order away from being close colleagues.

So, please support your Corps and these events in 2024 and use them to build comradeship and refresh friendships.

I have two final requests. The first is to support the Turning of the Pages Ceremony in Westminster Abbey. If you can, please go along and support those on parade. It is a very short but hugely important event that connects us to those who gave everything for their patients and colleagues. It is also incredibly meaningful for those on parade. And, the Royal Army Medical Corps relationship with the Abbey is both unique and very special. The second is to share this link. If you are reading this, then you have found the Blue Book and can choose which events to attend. I meet so many of our colleagues, regular, reserve and veteran, who do not know of its existence. Your task is to ensure that every event is oversubscribed.

Best wishes for 2024.
